Rebecca (Becs) is a senior sports lawyer with a 15+ year career that extends across international sports events, sport federations, and significant sports brands. Her experience includes advising the Global Sports Marketing team at adidas International (Amsterdam) and representing the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in anti-doping hearings and athlete classification appeals (Bonn, Germany).
She advised both organising committees of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 and the Rugby World Cup 2021 (played in 2022), led the regulatory framework at New Zealand Rugby and is now the legal in-house lead for the New Zealand Rugby Players’ Association. Becs is a former ANZSLA Director (2019-2021) and currently sits on the selection panel for Paralympics New Zealand and is a member of the Elections Oversight Panel for the IPC.
Becs holds a Bachelor of Physical Education (sports science) and LLB (Otago, New Zealand) and is a graduate (with distinction) of the International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (Neuchatel, Switzerland). She also has a number of national sporting honours to her name, representing New Zealand in touch, hockey (U18) and volleyball (U19). Becs lives in Auckland with her husband and two young children.
