Amanda Slade

Amanda Slade brings a strong education and high-performance background to her role as Personal Development Manager for Otago Rugby. Of Samoan and Tuvaluan descent and proudly raised in Otago, Amanda combines cultural grounding with more than 20 years’ experience in teaching across Dunedin, Auckland, and London. She holds a Bachelor of Education majoring in Physical Education and has built her career around empowering young people through learning, leadership, and community engagement.

Alongside her work in education, Amanda competed at elite level rugby, representing Otago and Auckland in the Farah Palmer Cup, playing Premier rugby for London Wasps, and representing Manusina Samoa at the 2002 and 2006 Rugby World Cups. Now supporting the Otago Academy, High Performance Women, and Otago NPC teams, Amanda is passionate about helping players grow on and off the field. Outside of rugby, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and contributing to youth and community initiatives close to her heart.
